Memorial Mass for The Precious Infants
The Mass was held on February 2, 2008. There were many families who attended. The Mass was beautiful & very touching. Each family received many memorable keepsakes. We shared a potluck meal & then everyone wrote messages on their balloons & we ended with a balloon release. We hope to make this an annual celebration of these precious lives.

Memorial Mass
I talked to Father Bean again about the Memorial Mass we are planning for all families who have lost their babies to miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death.
This Mass will be on Saturday, February 2nd, 2008 (The Feast of the Presentation) at noon at St. Patrick's in Adamsville.
This will be an opportunity for us all to "present" OUR babies to God and to have them recognized by name and remembered for the unique and important children of God that they are.
We will have the parish hall after Mass for a potluck lunch, where we will be able to fellowship with each other over a meal.

The Bear Hugs Program
Everyone brought teddy bears to the funeral, to be donated to The Bear Hugs Program, in memory of you. The bears will be given, along with grief support information, to moms who have lost babies to miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. They will be given by OB offices, hospitals and The Amelia Center in Birmingham.
We hope to honor your memory by reaching out to help others who are hurting.
The tags on the bears will have helpful websites, a 1-800 # for grief counselling and on the back read:

A Reminder how precious life is.
Your brief, but beautiful lives were a reminder that each day is a gift. We have no guarantees in this life, other than the fact that we too will die. We know that we were not created for this world, but for eternal life and that our children are not ours, but are loaned to us by God. But we are human and we still feel the pain of loss. We wanted you both in our life, here, so that we could hold you and kiss you and snuggle with you. We know that that is selfish and that you both are in heaven, happy beyond our understanding. And one day we will be able to fully rejoice in that, but right now we are still hurting and trying to adjust to the fact that you are gone. We have much more peace now that we have had your funeral, it was a beautiful testament to the importance of every life to God. You were both gifts with a purpose. You are both much loved.
